How can I address an issue with the Mayor or speak at a City Council Meeting?
City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
• Citizens’ Right to Speak
1. Citizens, who wish, may speak on any matter not on the Agenda for a maximum of 3 minutes and sign the Public Comment Roster.
2. Citizens who wish to speak on Agenda Items, sign the General Agenda Roster or appropriate Public Hearing Roster before the item is called to be heard.

Does the Mayor vote on all issues before the governing body?
In the event of a tie vote by the City Council the mayor casts a tie-breaking vote, except upon adoption or amendment of the budget by Resolution.

Does the Mayor make any Board/Committee appointments?
Yes, Mayoral appointments are made to Renewal Wheat Ridge, Housing Authority, and the Wheat Ridge Senior Program Advisory Committee. Mayoral appointments are ratified by City Council.

What is the procedure for Mayor/Council Proclamations?
Proclamations are acknowledged at City Council Meetings under Proclamations and Ceremonies. For information regarding a proclamation request contact the Assistant to the Mayor and City Council at (303) 235-2815.

How can I receive City updates from the Mayor?
You can receive all the most current information from the Mayor by signing up to receive the Mayor’s Matters e-newsletter. It is sent out once a month via e-mail and it is entirely free.
