Operation Blue Santa collects toys and donations every year that are distributed by the Optimist Club and the Wheat Ridge Police Department during the holidays to families in need. This year WRPD's Blue Santa, aka Jeffcom 911 Communications Manager Chris Garramone, and his “elves” will be collecting donations at the Walmart at Lakeside, 5957 W 44th Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. WRPD, Lakeside Police and the Optimists hope to fill patrol cars to the brim with toys and gifts. They will be on hand for pictures with children and to visit with them about their wish lists.
