Traffic configuration changes occurred overnight on Wadsworth between 35th Avenue and 41st Avenue. Travel lanes shifted west to open up a new work area on the east side of Wadsworth. All turning movements are possible at the Wadsworth and 38th Avenue intersection. However, left turn restrictions are now in place at 35th Avenue, 39th Avenue and driveways within this 1/2-mile stretch of Wadsworth. Many of these access changes are permanent. When the project is complete, a landscaped center median will divide northbound and southbound Wadsworth. The final plan is available for review at https://whatsupwheatridge.com/improve-wadsworth.
A traffic pattern change is expected on 44th Avenue on or after Thursday, Sept. 28 to move all traffic south and onto the new concrete so work can continue on the north side of the street.
Crews will continue to work both day and night shifts this week on Wadsworth. Utility relocation work requires nightly lane closures on Wadsworth from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
All businesses are open during construction.Construction may impact how access is configured so drivers are asked to note signage, traffic control devices, and crew instructions when flaggers are present.
All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
