The Environmental Assessment (EA) for the I-70/Kipling Interchange is complete and will be available for public review from January 25 – February 24, 2019.
The EA provides a detailed evaluation of the Proposed Action Alternative (Diverging Diamond Interchange) in comparison with the No Action Alternative.
CDOT will host an open house meeting on February 12 to share information and gather public feedback regarding the EA and the planned I-70/Kipling Interchange reconstruction. The meeting will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, 4005 Kipling Street, Wheat Ridge, CO 80333. Community members are invited to attend at their convenience during this time to view open house exhibits, talk with project team staff, and submit comments regarding the EA. No formal presentation is planned.
Public input will be considered by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) prior to issuing a decision document to finalize the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. Construction is not yet fully funded, but completing this study and preliminary (30%) design will allow the project to quickly move forward when funding is obtained.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided upon request for people with disabilities. If you require accommodation to participate, contact dot_i70kiplingnepa@state.co.us.
Public comments regarding the EA can be submitted any time during the 30-day public review period. To learn more about the proposed interchange project or to find out how to submit comments, visit www.codot.gov/projects/i-70-kipling-interchange.
