Community Advisory Committee


The Wheat Ridge Police Department is forming a Community Advisory Committee to engage in open dialogue about the delivery of law enforcement services.

The committee will meet every two months to discuss relevant issues facing law enforcement, such as law enforcement services, alternative service delivery methods, use of force, crime prevention, and mental health services.

Qualifications include: a broad knowledge of Wheat Ridge, the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with people of diverse perspectives and experience, a commitment to improving police services in Wheat Ridge, the ability to be objective and open to learning about policing, and to reside or work in Wheat Ridge. Applicants must register and attend the WRPD Citizen’s Academy in 2019 or 2020.
