2-4-16 WRPD investigating stabbing at the Howard Johnson Hotel
Wheat Ridge Police are investigating a stabbing that took place this morning at the Howard Johnson Hotel, 12100 W. 44th Avenue. WRPD received call at 6:57 AM reporting a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, CO.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, an arrest warrant was issued for Onesia Ann Najera, DOB/10-2-1964, stemming from the drowning death of her grandson, Angel Goodwin in May 2015.

7-22-15 Hit and Run Suspect Arrested
On June 25, 2015, officers of the Wheat Ridge Police Department responded to a hit and run accident on Kipling St. at the I-70 Service Road South. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown white truck with dual tires had struck a motorcyclist. The white truck continued northbound on Kipling St. without stopping.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has positively identified 10 year old Angel Goodwin as the child who was found unresponsive by his grandmother in her home on 5/5/15.

The Wheat Ridge Police Department has been investigating Richard Austin Wyatt
(DOB 9/6/63) owner of Gunsmoke, Inc. for suspicion of theft. On April 9, 2015 an arrest warrant was issued by the Jefferson County Courts for Wyatt for Theft from an At Risk Adult, a Class 3 felony.

On February 4, 2015 at approximately 4:28 PM, officers with the Wheat Ridge Police Department were called to a home in the 4100 block of Youngfield St. by firefighters with the Arvada Fire Protection District. Firefighters were in the area when they observed a fire at this home.

When officers arrived on scene, they found 48 year old John Thomas Gilmore III in the street with life threatening injuries.

At approximately 5:45 this morning, an elderly woman was walking her Dachshund through Founder’s Park in Wheat Ridge, located at 3705 Jay St. She was heading back to her residence at the nearby senior housing units when the small dog pulled away from her and escaped from his collar, running toward some bushes.

11-25-13 Police Hunt for the Bring-Your-Own Bag Bandit
On 11/19/13 at approximately 8:12 pm, the below pictured suspect went into the Everyday Store at W. 38th Avenue and Harlan Street in Wheat Ridge and engaged the clerk in conversation. The suspect left without purchasing anything and returned about 20 minutes later with a handgun and a reusable blue shopping bag.

At approximately 11:30 this morning a woman in her early 20’s was walking along the Greenbelt path near 48th and Otis in Wheat Ridge when a man allegedly chased the two down while stabbing them.

7-15-13 Arrest Made in Murder of Leann “Annie” Meyer
This afternoon, detectives with the Wheat Ridge Police Department and investigators with the Park County Sheriff’s Office arrested 54 year old Melissa Miller of Lakewood for the February murder of Wheat Ridge resident Leann “Annie” Meyer.
