PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearings before the Wheat Ridge City Council at the following date, time, and place:

The August 10, 2020 Council meeting will be conducted as a virtual meeting. NO MEMBER OF COUNCIL OR STAFF WILL BE AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, AND THE BUILDING WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.

All interested persons are invited to participate in the virtual meeting in any one of the following ways:

Individuals who, due to technology limitations, are unable to participate in the meeting virtually (via the Zoom platform) or by calling in on the telephone may contact Danitza Sosa, Assistant to the Mayor and City Council, at 303-235-2977 by noon on August 7. Arrangements will be made for those individuals to access City Hall during the meeting to view the meeting and provide public comment if desired. These comments will be heard and seen in real time by members of Council and City staff. Individuals accessing City Hall must practice social distancing, wear a mask or other facial covering and be free of COVID-19 symptoms. 

The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony on an application by Applejack Wine and Spirits, LLC for inclusion of a property located at 3320 Youngfield Street in Wheat Ridge (the “Project”) for inclusion into the Enhanced Sales Tax Incentive Program (ESTIP) established by Chapter 22, Article 1 Division 4 of the Wheat Ridge Code of Laws. Specifically, Applejack Wine and Spirits, LLC proposes to make certain public improvements to the referenced property and to receive a rebate, in the form of a refund of incremental sales taxes paid in connection with the Project, in an amount not to exceed 100% of enhanced tax for a period of ten years or $990,146.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wheat Ridge City Council will conduct Public Hearings on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to consider Council Bills:

15-2020 - An Ordinance Repealing Chapter 16, Article X "Massage Parlors" and Reenacting Regulation of Massage Businesses by Amending Chapter 11, "Licenses, Permits and Miscellaneous Business Regulations", by the Addition of a New Article X, Entitled "Massage Businesses" and Making Conforming Amendments to Chapter 2, Article V "Administrative Enforcement" and Chapter 26 "Zoning and Development.

16-2020 - An Ordinance approving the disposition of excess real property held by the City adjacent to Ridge Road between Taft and Tabor Streets.

Urban Renewal Authority 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a virtual public hearing will be held by the Wheat Ridge Urban Renewal Authority on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. regarding a supplemental budget adjustment and appropriation to the URA General Fund (120); 44th and Ward (124), West End 38 (126) and the Kipling Ridge fund (123).   

Any interested citizens are invited to attend the virtual public hearing.  The budget amendment will be available for inspection by the public in the Economic Development office as of August 8, 2020 by emailing Steve Art at sart@ci.wheatridge.co.us or calling 720-454-9040 to receive a copy.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there will be a special meeting of the WHEAT RIDGE HOUSING AUTHORITY on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.   

The August 11, 2020 Wheat Ridge Housing Authority special meeting will be conducted as a virtual meeting. NO MEMBER OF THE AUTHORITY OR STAFF WILL BE AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, AND THE BUILDING WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.

NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Wheat Ridge Housing Authority on August 11, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. as a virtual meeting regarding adoption of the 2020 Budget.  The 2020 budget is $275.

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wheat Ridge City Treasurer has adopted Resolution No. 1 Series of 2016, A Resolution Amending the Sales and Use Tax Regulations of the City of Wheat Ridge to Authorize the Rounding of Fractional Dollars on Tax Returns.

Resolution 40-2020: Effective July 23, 2020

Public notice of public meetings of the City Council, Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and all other Board, Commission, Committee, and advisory board meetings for which public notice is required, shall be posted at the main entrance to the Municipal Building, 7500 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, which location shall be deemed the official posting location for the City.

Except as otherwise permitted by Sections 5.2 and 5.12 of the Charter, notices and other information required to be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, shall be made in the Jeffco Transcript; except that, where circumstances make publication ineffective or otherwise undesirable, the City may publish official notice on the City’s website.

RECENT ORDINANCES ADOPTED BY COUNCIL

Ordinance 1682 - An Ordinance adopting by reference the 2018 editions of the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, International Property Maintenance Code, International Energy Conservation Code, International Residential Code, International Fire Code, International Existing Building Code, International Swimming Pool And Spa Code, and International Fuel Gas Code; the 2017 edition of the National Electrical Code; the 2018 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 99) Standard for Health Care Facilities; the 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings; adopting certain amendments to such codes; providing penalties for violations of the same; and amending Chapter 5 of the Wheat Ridge Code of Laws accordingly.
