Traffic Summons
Summons with Early Payment Option
If an early payment option is listed on the front of the traffic summons:
- You may pay online with Visa or MasterCard.
- You may pay or by phone with Visa or MasterCard by calling (303) 235-2835.
- You may pay in person with cash, check, money order, Visa or MasterCard at the Municipal Court office during the regular business hours of Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding Holidays). You must bring your copy of the summons to the Municipal Court office.
- You may pay by mail with a check or money order to: Wheat Ridge Municipal Court, 7500 W 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. If you mail payment, it must be received before the due dated listed on the front of the summons. Do not mail cash.
If paying by mail, you must: 1) Sign, date and return the "Defendant" copy to the court, 2) By signing, you acknowledge that you are entering a guilty plea, 3) Accept the points listed on your summons, and 4) Waive the rights listed on the back of you summons.
Summons without Early Payment Option
If you are not given an early payment option on your summons, appearance in traffic court is mandatory.
Traffic court:
- Occurs on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- Times are scheduled according to Defendant's last name
- Cases are called on a first-come, first-serve basis
- Check-in begins at approximately 8:15 a.m.
Summons With a No Proof of Insurance Violation
If your summons includes a No Proof of Insurance Violation:
- Your court appearance is mandatory.
- Your insurance company must provide proof of insurance to the court two weeks prior to your court appearance.
Proof of Insurance
- Must be provided by your insurance company
- Must include proof that both you and the vehicle were covered at the date and time the violation was received
- May be mailed to the address on the back of your summons
- May be faxed to (303) 235-2829
If proof of insurance is provided by any other source other than your insurance company, the final disposition of your case will be delayed and a new court date will be scheduled.
If you fail to appear in court, a warrant for you arrest and/or a hold on your driver's license may be issued.
No Proof of Insurance
Parking Tickets
You must pay parking tickets by the due date listed on the front of the ticket. If the ticket is not paid by the due date, a $15 late charge will be added to the ticket.
Payment
- You may pay by phone with Visa or MasterCard by calling (303) 235-2835.
- You may pay in person with cash, check, money order, Visa or MasterCard at the Municipal Court Office during regular business hours of Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding Holidays). You must bring your copy of the ticket to the Municipal Court Office.

Protesting a Parking Ticket
If you would like to protest a parking ticket, you may call the Judicial Assistant's Office during regular business hours of Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding Holidays) to request an arraignment. Please bring a driver's license and/or picture identification with you on your scheduled arraignment date.
