Refuse To Be A Victim

WRPD hosts a free course in personal safety throughout the year. The course titled, Refuse to be a Victim, is presented by the Crime Prevention Unit.

In this course participants learn how to increase awareness, avoid dangerous situations, and prevent confrontations with criminals. Refuse To Be A Victim is an award-winning crime prevention program presented by WRPD, and developed by the National Rifle Association (NRA), that provides valuable tips and techniques for recognizing dangerous situations and avoiding the potential of becoming a victim.

Course Topics include:refusetobeavictim.jpg

During the course there is no discussion of firearms or gun ownership. This is also not a self defense class. The seminar is focused solely on crime prevention education.

WRPD’s Crime Prevention officer recently attended a national train-the-trainer program for this class. There was no cost for WRPD to receive this training. The course materials for participants are provided at no charge to the department or to the participants. The event being presented is free of charge for anyone who wants to attend.

Information collected during the registration process will only be used by WRPD to contact participants, and will never be used for solicitation purposes of any kind.

Registration information will be posted on this page when the next class is available. Event information will be shared on our social media pages, Facebook and Twitter, and on the home page.
