2019 Election
2019 Ballot Results
The Final, Certified Election results are posted at the Jefferson County website 30 days after polls close at 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2019. These results, along with the certification, can also be viewed at this link: 2019 Certified Election Summary and Certification.
All ballots have been counted and included in the current results. The Jefferson County Clerk’s office conducted a post-election audit on Monday, November 18, and certified the results on Monday, November 25.
Election 2019 included a full slate of candidates for City Council with Districts II and III Davis and Pond stepping down due to term limits, and Districts I and IV Council members Kueter and Mathews running for reelection. The City Clerk was also term limited and the City Treasurer ran unopposed for reelection.
There was one Wheat Ridge ballot initiative for 2019:
Ballot Question 2E on the Rezoning of 4000-4066 Upham (posted in the Office of the City Clerk on the City’s website Sept. 25, 2019)
Shall Ordinance 1667, Series 2019, an ordinance rezoning real property at 4000-4066 Upham Street, City of Wheat Ridge, from Residential-Three (R-3) to Planned Residential Development (PRD) with an Outline Development Plan (ODP) allowing for 38 townhome units in nine buildings, go into effect?
___ Yes/For
___ No/Against
At the August 25, 2019, City Council meeting, the Council acted on a referendum petition that was submitted by Wheat Ridge residents whether to rezone the property at 400-4066 Upham. City Council referred the ballot question for a vote of the people in the election on November 5, 2019.
Subsequently, on August 29, 2019, a complaint was filed in Jefferson County District Court (Case NO. 2019 CV 31333) challenging the petition and its inclusion on the 2019 ballot. The judge recently ruled in the case determining that the petition is valid and therefore the issue will be decided by the voters.
