Overview
The Wheat Ridge Urban Renewal Authority (WRURA) is authorized by State Statute C.R.S. ยง 31-25-101,
et. seq., created by the City Council, and granted authority under the Urban Renewal Law "except as may be limited, constrained, or proscribed by any approved and adopted Urban Renewal Plan" (Code of Laws
Section 25-22).
Urban Renewal Plans
- Current Urban Renewal Plans are approved for the following areas:
- Wheat Ridge Town Center
- Wadsworth Boulevard Corridor
- 38th Avenue Corridor
- West 44th Avenue/Ward Road
- WRURA can recommend amendments to Urban Renewal Plans
- The City Council has sole authority to approve all amendments
- Urban Renewal Plan amendments are reviewed by the Planning Commission for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan
