The City of Wheat Ridge Parks, Forestry and Open Space Division would like to provide the following care tips for trees damaged in the July 20th storm that hit Wheat Ridge.

Free mulch is available year-round to all Wheat Ridge citizens at Prospect Park, located at 44th and Robb, next to the tennis courts. [Additional info...]

The City has re-opened the Clear Creek Trail from Anderson Park west to Youngfield, including the crusher fine trail in the Conservation Area. Please be aware that the areas north and south of the crusher fine trail are unsafe and remain closed. Damage assessment and debris cleanup is still in process.

Wheat Ridge 2020 is pleased to announce its Block Recovery Grant Program in response to the July 20 storm. A full application and overview for interested residents is available.

The Crossroads Church at 50^th and Kipling has volunteers to assist those who need help in cleaning up their properties.  They will cut up downed trees and branches and help clean up the debris in people’s yards. They will not do any construction work and or tree trimming that requires a licensed arborist.    If you know of someone, especially the elderly or handicapped, please forward their name, address, and contact number to Wade Hammond, Police Department,  and he will forward it to the church.

Following the major storm Monday evening, repairs to private property may be needed which would require a building permit from the Wheat Ridge Building Division.  The types of work requiring [permits are...]
