Colorado Life Trak is a new program in the State of Colorado to assist residents who have medical conditions that may cause them to wander. The project is a rapid response partnership between law enforcement and the families of those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders and conditions such as Down Syndrome and Autism who live in private residences. 

A family member or caregiver of an eligible patient contacts the Wheat Ridge Police Department to enroll in Colorado Life Trak. Participants wear a wristband that emits a tracking signal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, over several miles. Caregivers notify the police department when a participant is missing. A search is completed utilizing the receiver equipment to find the participant.
