Traffic Signal Flashing at W 29th Avenue and Fenton Street.
Please be aware that the traffic signal at the intersection of 29th Avenue and Fenton Street is in flash mode as you drive through it. It will be in flash mode for at least 90 days prior to removal. This is a required step prior to the permanent removal of the traffic signal. The signal will be removed in May 2019,Denver Water has completed its reconstruction of the water reservoirs at the northwest corner of 29th and Fenton. Their project also removed the hill which blocked the visibility at the intersection for many years where it created a blind corner. As a result, a traffic signal was placed to safely control the traffic thru the intersection.With the improved visibility, the City plans to remove the traffic signal as part of the 29th Avenue realignment project. It will be replaced with stop signs on Fenton Street and free flow on 29th Avenue.The Water line and Sanitation sewer line installations are scheduled to begin April 22, 2019. West 29th Avenue will be shut down from Kendall Street to Fenton Street to begin their portion of the reconstruction project. A detour will be in place during construction.
