- Explorer Scout Program
In 2013, the Wheat Ridge Police Department reintroduced the Explorer Scout Program. Post 6901 was named to honor the badge number of Jack Bramble, the interim Chief of Police for the City of Wheat Ridge when the department was established. Chief Bramble was a volunteer who was dedicated to public service who exemplified the values that the Explorers follow today.
The Explorer Scout program consists of youth ages 14-20 years old who are interested in learning about Law Enforcement as a career. The Explorer program offers area teens the chance to get real-world police knowledge and leadership experience while providing service to the community.
The Explorers participate in an academy designed to provide them with basic Law Enforcement Skills. The Explorers then assist the Wheat Ridge Police Department and the community as volunteers while earning ride-a-long hours with our patrol officers.
